BMW S1000RR on the Long Island Expressway (309km/h)

In New York there is a small group of underground riders who do super dangerous things on sportsbikes. Despite creating an incredibly negative perception of all motorcyclists among the general public and the police, these specific riders are nevertheless highly respected throughout most of the motorcycle community for the risks they take. Here, one of the better known members of that small group decided to take his BMW S1000RR to the Long Island Expressway during the the wee hours to see how fast it would go. The result? A GPS-verified sustained maximum speed of 192mph (309km).

We shouldn’t have to tell you not to try this yourself.

Scooter-powered carousel of death!

Take four teenagers, one scooter, a carousel, a video camera and a surplus of free time and you have a recipe for disaster. We’re amazed this guy walked away apparently uninjured.

Crashing Sucks

This is why you should wear your gear and what this guy has to say about it.

“Here’s why you dont put on brand new rear brake pads and go ride twisties right away. Ridden that corner hundreds of times, on a good line, normal speed, normal braking point and pressure. Only difference is the rear tire locking up. I let off the rear brake, tried again just to have it lock again. Ouch!”

“Thankfully the damage was minimal. My body protected the bike from the rock wall pretty well, and my gear did a very good job of protecting me. I’m not perfect, but without my suit, boots and helmet I would have been riding out in an ambulance.”
